Have you ever longed for a vacation that the only thing you think of is what’s the next surprise in your next destination? Sitting in front of the beach front sipping buko juice or just simply laze on a white powdery sand on a sunny beach day doing nothing. Nothing to think of, just simply enjoying the beach and a beautiful view in front while draw in fresh air.
My recent trip to Bantayan Island illustrates how I was able to loosen up stress from work and let go a little heart splinter (bigo ako ehh!)
Bantayan Island is situated to the west of the northern end of Cebu Island which is divided into three municipalities: Bantayan, Madridejos and Sta. Fe.
There is no easy way of getting to Bantayan Island, you have to wake up early to catch up the single day trip of SM Express Boat in Cadiz port. Since I am from Bacolod City, this travel guides’ start point is from Bacolod City North Terminal. Make sure to catch on or before 7 am bus to Cadiz City, travel time is 1 hour and fare is P100.00. Tell the driver to drop you off to the tricycle going to Cadiz City Port, trike fare is P25.00. Boat departs the port 9am depending on the number of passengers. If the passengers reached the total capacity before 9am the boat automatically departs. Boat fare is P300.00 and travel time is two to three hours.
Upon arrival in Bantayan Port, you can ride a sikad for P10.00 or you can walk to the trike station going to Sta. Fe. Our destination is in Sta. Fe where the beautiful sun rise and the famous wide stretch of fine white sand beaches is.

What to do and Where to go in Bantayan Island
This is the most wanted part that I’ve been looking forward to on every trip. What to do and where to go, makes my butt itch for more adventures. The resort has readily available bicycle and motorbikes on the entrance that you can rent for a day and go visit all destinations in your bucket list. There’s trike drivers nearby too if you prefer to have that ride instead, just negotiate on the driver for the rate and he will be the one to take you to random places.
So here’s what we did for the 3 days and 2 nights stay in Bantayan Island.
From all of the research and reviews I looked over the internet about Bantayan Island, I can’t help the itch of my feet to head to this fine and powdery white sand and crystal clear waters. This was the reason why my single ladies group head up to this home of unspoiled white sand beaches, crystal turquoise waters, long stretch sand bars, enthralling rock formations, peculiar cave pools and palatable foods.
THE GERMAN RUINS
Locals call this place as German Ruins. The view from here is spectacular where the sea meets the sky. No entrance fee and there’s a stairs on the other side of the ruins that you can go swim with the fishes. This is the place where Bridgette (Bella Padilla) and head couch Louie (Sam Milby) dive in.
OGTONG CAVE RESORT
Ogtong Cave Resort is a pioneer resort in the island situated in the natural limestone rocks with a beautiful landscaped gardens. The famous part of the resort which is well known as tourist attraction is their natural cave pool which opens from 8AM to 4PM. Entrance fee is P100.00 per head and use of the cave pool is free.
EXPLORE VIRGIN ISLAND
I must say this is the best beach I’ve gone too. Whiter and finer white sand that glitters under the sun plus the inviting crystal clear waters that pulls your energy to go swim with its calming waves and the hard rock formations fronting the beach that welcomes the boat upon docking, this was the best vacay ever!
Virgin Island also known as Silion or Hilantagaan Diot is a small island in the municipality of Sta. Fe. When you are in Bantayan I suggest you should include this in your list. For more details please do check out this article: Virgin Island, Bantayan Cebu.
LOOSEN UP IN KOTA BEACH RESORT
Kota Beach Resort has one of the affordable room rate per night for a standard room, so we booked our stay here for P900.00 double occupancy fan room. They serve delectable varieties of food and a gives a very excellent service to their guests.
I know almost all of you, especially single ladies out there who experienced the heart broken stage of their life never missed a chance to watch the movie of Bella Padilla and Sam Milby who starred at the CAMP SAWI which almost of their shots were being filmed in Kota Beach Resort.
My stay in Kota Beach was one the most relaxing trip I ever had. No chasing of time, no hunt for any transport vehicles, no rush. It was all like a lazy Sunday afternoon.
